Isosorbite tablets

Because when I was in hospital a few weeks ago the cardiologist upped my mono isosorbite to 90mg and gave me Chemudur tablets 60mg my G.P has prescribed these this time. Wondering if there is any difference in these to the usual generic brand 60mg I usually get. Put my prescription in Tuesday last week and I know it was issued the same day and sent to our local Tesco store where we usually pick prescriptions up when we go shopping on a wed. Went today and none of my meds had been done and discovered they didn't have the Chemudur tablets. Not very impressed with the pharmacist today (not the usual lady who is lovely and very helpful) as he said it would be 10 minutes so did our shopping went back, and he hadn't even done any of my other meds. I know they are extra busy since Boots, closed a lot of the small pharmacies in the town and it's going to get worse as I understand the pharmacy in the other main Tesco is,closing in May.Would use,the pharmacy next to doctors but don't trust them since they were taken over by Boots and forget to do my husband's prescription whilst he was, there and when He got home he had someone else's prescription as well as his own. Sorry for the long rant. I do understand the mono isosorbite can be in short supply from reading other posts on here.

Hello

Over the many years I have been on isosorbide mononitrate, I have been dispensed many different brands of ISMN, including chemydur.

My prescription is written with the generic name rather than a specific brand. This means my Pharmacist can dispense whatever is available.

There have been ongoing supply issues with lots of different medications.

I use an independent Pharmacy as they seem to be more willing to try and find the medication I need from the wholesalers.

Boots just didn't care and kept getting my medication wrong.

Mine in the past have been dispensed with the generic name and like you I have had many different brands. It's just this time the g.I issued them in the same brand given to me by hospital. I have got me review in a couple of weeks and an going to ask if they can go back to generic ones, again. Our lovely local chemist moved to next door to my doctors when they changed to where they are now and the authorities wouldn't let him keep the original shop open which he wanted to do. Eventually it got swallowed up by boots.
