HI Bluecat

My husband had a cardiac arrest and stent fitted 3 years ago.

Also had CPR for 13 minutes and 4 shocks.

The pain across his ribs and sides did continue for about 4 to 6 months to be honest, and like you he had no broken ribs.

He did speak to the doctor about it and they said it was bruising and the stent settling in, but obviously get it checked if it gets worse, or you have shortness of breath etc.

My husband is absolutely fine now, 3 years on. His was also caused by a blockage in the left artery, but no reason why was ever provided.

Good luck with your recovery xx

Hi I didn't realise that stents could cause settling in pain the consultant never mentioned that I have cardio rehab today I will mention it to the nurses thank you 😊

Hi, I had a cardiac arrest along with CPR, only a few minutes as one shock was enough, and then had open heart surgery for a new valve. I'm sure at the time I was in more pain from the CPR than the surgery and that was with no broken ribs. How are you doing otherwise and have you come across Sudden Cardiac Arrest UK, they have a website with lots of information for the likes of us and are also on Facebook etc.

Take care

Andy

I had a STEMI and five stents fitted last May. Still get niggly chest pains now and again. Mentioned it to my cardiologist who said it takes at least twelve months for stents to 'bed in' properly.

Thank you so much for the reply I feel more reassured now I spoke to the nurses on the ward before I was discharged and was told I won't see a cardiologist again as I have been fixed by having my stent put in
