Hi All,
Having had an NSTEMI in 2021 which led to a stent in the LAD I’ve had a number of scans & tests over the last few years. The most recent one being a 24hr ECG at the end of August last year & yesterday I received the result.
There were no significant rhythm changes or an excessive slowing of the heart rate & it was noted that my average bpm is only 55bpm…I’m on 10mg Bisoprolol so no surprises there.
I’ve now been provisionally discharged on a Patient Initiated Pathway Scheme, meaning if I don’t have to contact cardiology in the next few months then I’ll be referred back to the GP. I’ve also got to continue with all the meds of course but thankfully I can continue with my current exercise regime.
The main point of this post is to say that it’s taken time but I’m now finally at a point where I feel well, not only physically but mentally - that was a BIG challenge for me especially after losing my mother to cancer in June ‘23.
My advice to anyone undergoing treatment for heart issues especially is to bear with it. There’s a lot of trial & error involved but finally you will get there. I found anfter I had the stent anxiety caused me a real issue. Any little niggle or pain I thought my heart was playing up & that lasted for a good couple of years. if you’re going through the same then do reach out & speak to people.
