Hello, I’ve just joined and reading all the lovely supportive texts I am grateful to have found you. I’ve been treated with arrythmia for a few years which recently turned into persistant Atrial Fibrillation. When I finally admitted (to myself) what was going on my doctor acted quickly and referred me to a Cardiologist for Cardioversion which I had two weeks ago. I’m pleased to say it worked and my heart is back in normal sinus rythme although I have have been diagnosed with mild heart failure. I am on lots of new drugs and I am having quite a few side effects but got a review next week so hope they can change dosage/ drugs. I am most worried about the double vision. And weight loss which seems excessive 7kgs in a couple of weeks. The shock of diagnosis and worry about side effects is making me anxious as I am not feeling as well as I was before I had the procedure - has anyone else had this experience.

Cardioversion after effects

I haven’t had a cardio version but when I had an angiogram it turned out that the nurse on the ward not the people doing the procedure had put my cannula in wrong and the painkillers and other stuff that was put in it during the procedure was leaking into my arm. They had to stop the procedure near the end as it was very painful. I was very distressed and couldn’t see very well as I had very bad double vision and as though the room was tilted and I felt very sick. It lasted all night and early morning then started to subside. I have had 3 previous angiograms and all went well and had no side affects. Perhaps this could have happened to you how long has it been going on for and see your doctor or cardiologist if it’s been a while and isn’t getting better. Hope it sorts itself out for you. X
