Suffering bad anxiety (NSVT)

Been under assessment with cardiology this year and I'm having a very rough time with anxiety the past month.

My GP did some digging, found they do have evidence around a decade old that I had a 14 beat run of NSVT (palpitations and chest pain). At the time the assumption was another condition was causing that, so they fixed that condition expecting the NSVT would go too. But I'm back under evaluation for the exact same symptoms, same duration, same pain etc. My cardiologist hasn't been worried, did an echo and 12 lead ecg, all clear. He's written to my GP planning discharge at my next review.

I'm absolutely terrified, my GP wanted a loop recorder so I'm worried he's not taking it seriously enough. He also originally suggested a stress test but seemingly forgot. I plan to ask about these before discharge but he seems to have decided it's safe, despite not feeling it.

I'm terrified it'll turn sustained or cause cardiac arrest. I've somehow managed my anxiety all year, but it's now hitting hard with the appointment and christmas coming soon. I also made the mistake of trying out Reddit and it's a whole different atmosphere there, many comments on others' posts about how 6+ PVCs in NSVT is absolutely dangerous acording to their Dr, how ICDs should be given etc. It's by far made me much more stressed than posting here

Anyone else had to learn to live with this?

Never go on Reddit it's a horrible place with horrible people.

This is a good forum with lots of help. If you want to go on another forum try Gransnet . You don't have to be a gran to join . Open to men and women.

There is a health forum and a thread called Black dog lot on there have anxiety plus other health conditions but it's not a doom gloom thread but just a lovely thread with people that care .

Have you been put on any medication to help with the palpitations. I have PAF and small hole in the side of my heart I was born with but not found until 2020/2021 confirmed position and size after MRI in 2021. On Flecainide and Apixaban. Been on Ramipril for over a decade for high blood pressure.

Get heart flutters and palpitations sometimes but just relax and do pre natal breathing and soon over. I miss heart beats as jaundice in 2017 left me hearing my heart beat in my left ear. But on the medication so don't worry about it. I do get breathless at times especially in extremes of weather . But don't worry about it.

The main thing for me is having my diagnosis. Plus only found out when I was 63 in 2022 what rare hereditary neurological condition I was born with . I am now 66.

It's easy to say try not to worry . Write down all you want to know before being discharged.

Not what you're looking for?
