I'm getting a reveal implant in a few weeks. What's that you say? It is only a semi permanent ecg monitor fitted under the skin.Does anyone have experience of having received one? What was the procedure like? Life after its fitting?

Hi, I had the Reveal implant done some years ago, it's now been removed. Its also known as an (ILR) implantable loop recorder. Its a very simple procedure, all they do is numb the area with local anaesthetic and insert the recorder under your skin. Its not a big device, smaller than a memory stick. Its only a tiny incision. No stitches. A dressing was put on it, which I kept on for a few days. Could hardly see anything once dressing was taken off. I carried on with normal activities. I was given a device to plug in at the side of the bed. But they may do things differently now.
