Medication after heart valve repair.

How long do you usually stay on medication after valve repair? I think I'm on too much, bisoprolol, amniodarone and ramipril. I feel fine, and fit. I would like to stop some or all ASAP.

I was put on bisoprolol after OHS (mitral valve repair and aortic valve replacement) because my heart rate went up a bunch (evidently common enough for a healing heart). In 5 weeks it's only come down a bit, so I imagine I'll be left on it a while longer -- and perhaps even permanently.

My BP is only on the high side of normal, so I wasn't put on ramipril, and I had no rhythm issues (I returned to sinus on cross-clamp removal), so no amiodarone.

I was put on warfarin because of the artificial valve. That one's forever (and a pain in the rear as it has to be closely monitored). But it is what it is.
