Is there anyone else here who has a folic acid deficiency? Ive been taking 5mg supplements the doctor gave me dor nearly two months and I still feel fatigued. Ive had echo stress tests which were just about normal. Ive been doing twice weekly cardio rehab classes through the referral scheme and I love doing those and can do without issue.
But ive got fatigue the days inbetween. Ive only gone back tonwork last week on reduced hours and duties but im starting to feel like im getting cumulative tiredness like I did after i went ba k the first time in April.
Ive wondered if thr bisoprolol im taking may also be contributing, possibly keeping my heart rate too low for the type of lifestyle i lead and work i do.
Anybody identify with what ive just described?

hi after a blood test couple of months ago, GP prescribed folic acid 5mg and 200mg ferrous sulphate for three months, I wouldn’t say they have largely helped with fatigue, but I’d seen the GP for pins and needles and pains in left arm and hand which don’t seem to be there now (just normal carpel tunnel stuff). My arm and hand would be “buzzing”. Also I’ve not noticed as many palpitations (but I may be ignoring them as after monitor test no issues so reassured).
I still get muscle ache / cramp and joint pain as result of exertion, relieved at rest.
I would say general headache feels less but this is hit and miss re angina episodes.
I’m resigned to the fatigue being due to the angina and sleep apnea (so hoping the cpap machine will make a difference, counting down the days till my appointment to get machine).
I don’t think that really helps you, I’m assuming you’ve been tested for any other vitamin deficiencies like B12 and D?
If it's any help I have folate deficiency. I take 5mg folic acid as prescribed by my GP on a 4 weeks on /4 weeks off cycle. Before I was diagnosed I didn't feel unduly fatigued compared to what I would have expected, and don't feel any different now my folate levels are back up to where they should be. I have taken a PPI for reflux disease for over 15 years, and that may be the cause for the deficiency, but I will put up with it because the PPIs keep my reflux under control.
Thanks for the replies. Im waiting to hear back from the doctors tgis afternoon if i can get another blood test done ive been at work for 4.5 hours this morning and i feel like ive been at work 12 hours. Ive only done 2 jobs and neither was really demanding mentally or physically
