7 months post mild heart attack no heart damage, I could be having a lovely life if it wasn't for ectopic heartbeats I got from day 1.I have been told after Holter monitor results. Absolutely nothing to worry about, not indicative of another MI, heart disease or coronary disease.
I could accept that if it didn't make me feel so ill. It has got worse over time and after blaming meds one by one and trying to discover the reason I'm now wondering electrolyte imbalance. Anyone else?

Sorry to hear about it. Happy to share my experience. I started having them over a year ago. Typically early hours in the morning, but increasingly during the day now as well. I get a sensation of a heavy chest and feeling a little ill. I saw my GP last Nov. I had a one 24h holter in March (during which I had no missing heartbeat). Recently I got a message from my GP saying the results of the holter are fine; and he asked if I wanted to pursue it, given that I am already on various heart meds (I have microangina, high BP). I decided to keep a log of the missing heart beat; it is in in table (excel) with the following column : date, time of the "attack"; duration and description of the symptoms)
I am thinking of doing that for three months (say, to start with); may be more depending on the severity of the condition e.g. If I notice an increase in frequency and duration, I might go back to my GP.
Thank you for this. It is dismissed as nothing but it makes you feel really ill. I'm wondering now (I constantly jump from one cause to another) if I have raised potassium levels. My bp med has a possible side effect of raising potassium levels. Irregular heartbeats can be a consequence. My last blood test showed all normal but is normal for one person abnormal for another?
I am sorry but I cannot comment on the raised potassium caused (?) by BP med.
I have been on heart meds for close to 9 years. So, in my case, I do not think that is the meds. Having said y that, by keeping a journal, I will be able to analyse the when? frequency? duration? I will look to see if there is a pattern. I believe that, If go back to my GP with detailed data this would help them on the next step. Do take care
Aside from all the usual stuff, try to cut out artificial sweeteners and carbonated drinks from your diet. Try to get at least 7 hours sleep every night and remember to maintain an effective breathing rhythm throughout the day - it is easy to forget this when you are reading a book or watching a film.
