CAS and Jaw Ache

When members who have a confirmed diagnosis of CAS get jaw pain only - can they describe what this feels like to them and how long the episode lasts. It may be not be that relevant but I am talking about jaw pain only and not chest pain radiating to jaw pain

Hello,

In the many years of living with vasospastic angina, I haven't just experienced jaw pain during an episode of coronary vasospasms.

However we're all unique beings and can feel angina in different ways and places in our bodies.

as always Milk Fairy - thank you for taking the trouble to reply. I have read that people can get jaw pain with CAS but with me what happens is that say once every two weeks I get pain behind sternum only ever laying down ( would say discomfort more than pain and would score it 1-2). And then totally separately and not part of the same episode - I get in the day what i can only describe as jaw ache with sore muscles at the top joint below the ears and in the bottom jaw and this on both sides. This then nearly always lasts 2 days before disappearing. Dentist said its not classic TMJ.

heart pain can show up in lots of different ways as you know, but heart-related pain in jaw, back, arm or elsewhere can show up on their own without chest pain - they can also be anything from a mild ache or feeling of tightness to agonizing pain

so please don't ignore it, particularly if it is eased by measures taken for "typical" heart-related discomfort - we are all different🙂

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply. Yes I haven’t ignored and led to Ct snd mri scans that led to finding a TAA

I suppose I am seeking views as to whether what I am experiencing is CAS

I guess what I was saying is that it is possible, but I did not make that clear
