Hi Bluechimp

I would reach out to your GP or cardiologist to explain your results to you. In the meantime, a quick Google search shows that a nodal rhythm disorder is a case of SVT (supraventricular tachycardia). It is a very fast heart rate where the heart beats more than 100 times a minute. A normal heart rate is considered somewhere between 60-100 BPM.

I have linked the number for the BHF cardiac nurses below as well. They are very knowledgeable and should be able to assist with any queries you have regarding your recent result.

All the best.

AV nodal rhythm, unless it's a rapid tachycardia, is an escape rhythm when the sinus node fails to discharge or its impulses can't be transmitted to the AV node and then to the ventricles. Thus, nodal rhythm is an innate safeguard by our body to ensure that the heart keeps beating. The fact that you have nodal rhythm indicates that you have a sick or suppressed sinus node ( no evident sinus node activity on the monitor) or a conduction defect ( sinus node activity present but its beats aren't transmitted through the AV node & capturing the ventricles). The sinus node is our normal intrinsic pacemaker. You need to be evaluated and advised by a cardiologist.
