do I need a calcium supplement after having zoledronic acid infusion.
I left an answer on the post you wrote yesterday that answers this.Recommendations are to take Calcium and Vitamin D before and after a Z acid infusion.
My other reply gives more details about choices based on your reported concerns.
Hope things went more smoothly for you today , Bee
I just got back went ok,but I can't take a calcium supplement because they gave me constipation,
I gave an answer about Calcium supplements alternatives on the original post to prevent stomach issues , so it might be worth you looking back on that for your options, as well as the options for Vitamin D which is also recommended with Z acid infusions.Have a nice restful afternoon, you've earned it , Bee
I have been taking 1000iu d3 and k2 mk-7 for a while. and just ordered some seaweed based calcium from Amazon.
Just double check it's Calcium Citrate and not Calcium Carbonate which can be possible with seaweed products , if it is lithotharium calcium it contains carbonate and that is what triggers stomach problems.
You could always cancel the Amazon order and get a guaranteed Calcium Citrate based supplement instead which would hopefully reduce the chance of the stomach issues you had before.
.Take care , Bee
it's seaweed based with trace minerals.
Just edited my previous reply , you might want a look, all the best , Bee
it's just seaweed calcium no lithorium, you will see it on Amazon.
It's worth double checking , I know the total health seaweed based Calcium is L.Cakcium which is a type of Carbonate. If you've had problems before it may be better to swap to a plain Citrate product instead.
seaweed calcium does have calcium luthaminion calcium,I took 400 mgs of lambert's chewable calcium I lost 3 lbs in weight overnight can't afford to lose any weight so no more supplements.
Calcium Citrate is different to the seaweed one you mentioned though , and other Calcium Carbonate supplements. It is used by people whom specifically have low stomach acid and digestive problems because the risks of getting a stomach upset a low. It is an active or simple supplement so easier to digest and absorb.
You could also choose to try Calcium Citrate at half the recommended dose a day , or on alternate days, after food to reduce these risks further.
It could give you the balance of getting the calcium you need without the same side effects.
You can get various doses of Calcium Citrate from health shops and places like Amazon . It specifies Calcium Citrate on the label.
Your GP may also prescribe it to you, along with separate Vitamin D because you'd already had problems in the past.
it tells you the ingredients ,it's just seaweed, I have ordered it anyway.
I take calcium as well as vitamin D B12 prescribed by docs and I’m on allendronic acid for osteoporosis for definitely worth it especially if you haven’t yet got osteoporosis.
