I use the Garmin Forerunner 55.

Have used fitbit charge and apple iwatch.

Fitbit:

+ves:

-light / batterly life / cool free features / continious heart rate monitor / light

-ves:

Steps can be off and calories. Relative to iwatch - it overstates these.

Iwatch 8:

More than an fitness watch - mini iphone on your wrist.

+ves:

Lots of mettics and conservative metrics compared to fitbit

Apple ecosystem if you are a fan

ECG

-ves:

Battery life sucks / heart rate is measured at snapshots / free features better in fitbit (ie sleep tracker)

All in all - both good but one can be preferred in specific circumstances

Garmin vivoactive 4 for daily activity (walking 4k with dog , working round farm , mowing etc) and I wear a chest strap garmin heart rate monitor for specific training (weights , treadmill or outdoor running /cycling).

I have a series 2 I watch. They are not accurate but fairly reliable

Garmin Forerunner here. My GP accepts data from it as accurate/reliable. I do use a chest strap heart rate monitor when running/cycling/at the gym.
