39 Yr old male chest pains, shortness of breath and dizziness.

I am a 39 year old man that was fairly active until August last year. I have diabetes type 2, hypertension and kidney disease.

I originally went to the doctors complaining of palpations due to what I thought was anxiety. Then in August i had a funny turn. Chest pain, upper back pain, cold sweats, nausea, shortness of breath and dizziness. I still wasn't feeling great the following day so went docs. Since then I have found i am becoming short of breath more frequently to the point I can just be sitting talking and find i am gasping for breath.

Due to a family history of heart disease on both my mums and dad's side (dad passed away 63 last year from heart failure) i was sent for an ecg and had an abnormal ecg that triggered a referral to cardiology. I have had an ultrasound of the heart and now an mri.

I have seen the heart failure nurse and the have informed me that an EF of 40% is borderline heart failure. The only reason they are investigating is due to my age and family history of heart disease.

The nurse said that the EF shouldn't be causing me issues with breathing or going dizzy.

The mri showed i have LVH, enlarged LV and RV, enlarged aortic root and it mentions the heart walls are thickened. Also it mentioned about an axillary lymph node and a gall stone

Heart failure nurse said the funny turn sounds like a coronary related heart attack.

I'm not due to see the cardiologist until May.

I literally can't walk up the stairs or put my shoes and socks on without getting out of breath and needing to sit down for 10 minutes to recover

They have put me on bisopromal and plan to put me on some other meds.

Apparently I may need an angiogram

Just wondered if anyone has had similar issues?

Good afternoon Bigd1066. I was diagnosed with ckd at 43 years of age. Apparently born with only 1 full sized working kidney. Then had similar breathing problems to yours but was diagnosed with Severe copd and Asthma and needing a pacemaker for a slow heart rate. Your breathing condition sounds like it's slightly different but they are doing all the tests to find out what the problem is. Take care and hope they get you feeling better soon. Brian
