‘Borderline’ term in X Ray test

Afternoon,

I’ve just had a ‘borderline’ test result for a chest X Ray. I’m not sure what the ‘borderline’ bit actually means. Does it mean ‘slightly abnormal’ etc. Your words of wisdom would be appreciated.

Have a good day!

I think you need an explanation from the doctor who wrote the report as it could mean anything!Ideally you need this in writing and not via a phone call.

I have to say, it was too generic a description to be useful-thank you.

That's one to discuss with your GP.Ask what it was that is ' borderline '

What that means and what you can do to change the result or prevent the results getting worse in the future.

Often simple healthy lifestyle and activity choices can make a big difference to borderline results.

I agree ask dr exactly what the result is. I always feel borderline means on the edge of normal limits rather than on border of abnormal. However, why is it at that border, what could tip it over and what’s going to be done to prevent that. Good luck snd take care 🦊x

Thank you kindly. I like your definition. Perhaps wish fulfilment but I wouldn’t mind adopting this 😂
