Hi .After a stress echo it is noted that Ischemia detected in 5 segments of LAD territory.I know what LAD is but no one seems to be able to explain what 5 segments means .Can anyone enlighten me .Thanks.

If you google “heart segments” you’ll likely find a circular diagram that is divided into numbered segments. In some of these diagrams they identify areas of the heart served by the LAD and RCA. This might be helpful for you. When I had a heart attack, a later MRI showed that 5 of my LAD segments were “non viable” so this diagram was helpful in visualising the exact area of damage.
