no suitable landing zone for stent to LAD

can't be stented to 70% blockage to lad. surgeon says doesn't warrant surgery as I am not suffering and general in good health. will keep me on the usual cocktail of meds. in last 2 months had echocardiagram and MRI stress scan both coming back with nothing untoward. so being kept on meds and monitered . see you in 3 months .anyone else had similar , not sure what the future holds .have been in fitness all my life running swimming cycling on a regular basis ,slowly getting back into these. not had a heart attack, problem spotted because of persistent high blood pressure .which is now under control.

I am similar to you. The cardio team decided it might do more harm than good if I was stented due to the orientation of the blocked artery that perhaps needed it. But that was six years ago after an NSTEMI and 'all' I take for my cardio issues are a statin, ezetimibe, aspirin and a BP med. I am a little older than you but still keep mobile as much as possible, given arthritis and soft tissue problems, but listen to my body and wind it in a little if it tells me I am doing too much.

There was this study a few years ago."The ISCHEMIA trial failed to show that routine invasive therapy was associated with a reduction in major adverse ischemic events compared with optimal medical therapy among stable patients with moderate ischemia."

If you have no symptoms such as angina the risks of the procedure may out weigh the benefits.

Sometimes we have to learn to live with uncertainty 😊I live with a rarer type of angina due to my coronary arteries going into transient constrictions, vasospasms.

My only treatment option is medication, I am at risk of a heart attack, stroke, heart failure and major adverse cardiac events despite having no blockages in my coronary arteries.

It's a funny old world.

after waiting for 6 weeks for MRI scan results at my appointment with the cardiothoracic surgeon last week he said the scans were unusable he said we could get anther done if you want,I wasn't keen on that didn't mind the actual process but the messing about and then waiting for my results I really don't want. so after a good long consultation and listening to my frustration with symptoms that appear seemingly at random, which made it hard to plan things he said he would put me on the waiting list for a lima to the lad, said it could be 10months but try to carry on with your life as normal and continue to excersise but don't over do it.not really happy with 10 mth waiting list but as I feel quite well and have done since Xmas,I will take his advice and plod on,Just reminder they couldn't stent 70% blockage to lad as no suitable landing zone due to diffused plaque did do a balloon stent ,all other parts of heart are in good working order.

Living in limbo and earning to live with uncertainty and unpredictability is very difficult at times.Waiting for results and procedures so stressful too.

I hope you continue to feel well and there are no further delays to your treatment.

Looks like you are just on the border line as it is usually standard practice not to stent LAD at 70% but control the symptoms with meds. My husband had stents in 2007 after a heart attack then began having major problems in 2021 to 2022. After months of waiting he eventually had an angiogram where it was found he had 99% stenosis and was re-stented thank goodness. It appears to be a bit of a waiting game but it really disrupts your life if you are getting symptoms. All the best and keep well.
