Hello
I get stomach issues I take Bisoprolol as well as a cocktail of other medications so I cannot honestly say which is giving me stomach issues
If you are getting these cramps and they do not improve you need to try and talk with your Doctor so they can access if it is the meds causing it or something else
Let us know how you get on x
taking Bisoprolol amongst other meds so unsure of the guilty party but fed up of having frequent bouts of diarrhoea. Impacts my life as much as my heart failure
I’m on bisoprolol no side effects I’ve more struggled with my statins to be honest. But after a scare on Monday I’m trying yet again! It is difficult isn’t it, because we do need these medications to keep us stable and well. Maybe discuss with your doctor and see if they’ve any suggestions? I so take mine every day around the same time after breakfast with my aspirin. Funny your name, I live near a place called Corgarff! What a coincidence! 😊 hope you find a solution!
i was started on bisoprolol Saturday as in a and e my heart was racing at 170bpm. Omg I’m so tired and my resting heart is sometimes dropping to 49 bpm. Unsure what to do. Do I reduce the dose? I’m the same as you, unsure on things
I have been taking a range of Bisoprolol for 4 years 1.25 mcg right up to 15 mcg. (Depending if I am in tachycardia, or thanks to a cardioversion, Normal Sinus Rhythm.)
Recently I was switched to powerful drug Amiodarone, I had lots of the side-effects listed, I risked continuing and the side-effect discontinued.
When my heart was in tachycardia, and taking bisoprolol, I blamed the tachycardia for my tiredness.
However, I just looked up your problem in "Bard" googles free AI. Bard says
"Bisoprolol can cause drowsiness as one of its potential side effects. This is because it belongs to a class of medications called beta-blockers, which slow down your heart rate and relax your blood vessels. This can lead to feelings of fatigue and tiredness."
Yes, beta blockers can cause drowsiness, but can also have more serious sude effects. I was started on 3.75mg and had horrible feelings of impending doom.... as though I was going to die. I would probably expire on 15mg, which is certainly the highest dose I've heard of. I can only tolerate 1.25mg and my pulse rate averages 55bpm.
I am on 1.25mg Bisoprolol which I take with 4 other medications and 2 vitamins. I take them all together with my breakfast cereal and follow up with a mug of tea. I have no stomach issues as everything is well diluted.
One of my medications has two further doses, which are supposed to be at 8 hour intervals, but I take these with my meals as they upset me if taken without food. I'm allergic to PPIs so that is not an option for me.
