In September 2023 while on holiday my dad suffered a heart attack which ended in him having to have a stent filled. Since then there have multiple trips to hospital and doctors only for him to be given the all clear. Its very clear that he is suffering with depression which I fully understand why but I am just at a loss at how to move forward. We have had no help or support and he is still waiting to be seen by a cardio doctor

Dad's heart attack
Hello
This was me after my first heart attack I lived in fear of anything that reminded me of my heart attack was another one and would go to the Hospital to get checked so he could be suffering with anxiety as well
He will be offered Rehab which will be a big help when he does
Meanwhile I would encourage him to go and see his GP maybe you could go with him ask the GP if they could help chasing things up with the Hospital as well as talking about how he seems depressed it is early days and hopefully when he gets the support he needs and his confidence starts to get better things will improve
Happy New Year x
as Be-Kind says. In the meantime, encourage him to take gentle exercise like walking, especially if he can walk in the countryside or a park, and try and see if his diet is ok - plenty of fresh vegetables and drinking lots of water.
Hi, I’ve found you have to politely but regularly push for things. Going to the GP, phoning and emailing the cardiac department/cardiologist secretary. Contact and push for cardiac rehab. He can ask for mental health support but I imagine the waiting lists are quite long for that.
