Good Morning! I hope you’re all well. I’m feeling a little baffled and wondering if anyone else experienced my symptoms before. I’ve been diagnosed with Microvascular Angina (2 previous heart attacks in 21&22 - they weren’t fun) anyway moving on over the past few months I’ve been having random attack of my head buzzing then sweating profusely and feeling like I need to lay down quickly it’s a horrible feeling but I don’t know what’s causing it - I was tested for pots maybe three years ago which was Negative but this is different and I just wondering if anyone has had similar experience?? Struggling with getting a GP appointment but I’ve left a message for my Angina Nurse for some assistance as it seems to be coming on more regularly- thanks in advance awful feeling not knowing what your body is getting up to. X

Hello,

It is unsettling not knowing why you are experiencing any new unusual symptoms.

I live with another type of angina/ ischaemia non obstructive coronary arteries ANOCA / INOCA, vasospastic angina.

I have migraine like symptoms with my chest pains. I also have Raynauds Phenomenon. Many people living with vasospastic angina also have migraines and Raynauds Phenomenon.

There is growing evidence that all the blood vessels in the body are affected by the functional disorder of the blood vessels that causes either microvascular or vasospastic angina.

I have weird symptoms too, which all resolve when I am on high doses of IV GTN in hospital to treat my unruly coronary vasospasms.

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

How was your microvascular angina diagnosed?

Another problem we face as patients is that very few Cardiologists or cardiac nurses understand microvascular or vasospastic angina.

I see Neurologist and I suggest you ask to be referred to a Neurologist when you finally get to see a GP.

It maybe worth asking for a review by your Cardiologist too.

Good luck , I hope you feel more at ease soon.

i am sorry to hear that you have been daignosed with this poorly understood condition - Milkfairy has a lot of experience with this so I am glad to see they have already responded

you might also want to look up the websites for The International Heart Spasm Alliance and INOCA International where you can find out more about Microvascular Angina and there are also some more online support groups specifically for these conditions, other members here might suggest them for you

i am affraid this is one of those conditions which is poorly understood by most medical professionals as it has only recently "come to light" through improved technology which enable more advance diagnostic techniques - so i is important to get informed yourself and understand that you will be meeting with medical professionals who have barely heard of the condition ( but often also find it hard to deal with patients who know more than they do)

i wish you all the best in finding ways to live with this
