Have you spoken to your GP about this and see what they advice??

Hi this link does say confusion is a less common symptom of heart failure and advises you see your doctor.

nhs.uk/conditions/heart-fai...

if you click on the confusion symptom link it also says to seek medical help / advice.

Hi I have heart failure and yes I get very confused. Sometimes I feel like I’m getting dementia. I literally got angry with workmen because I got my appointment day muddled. After the confrontation with them I told them because it’s raining you can’t do the work outside properly anyway and sent them packing. Later I said to my daughter guess what the workmen turned up today after not coming yesterday when they should. She looked at the calendar and asked me what day were they meant to come so I told her Tuesday yesterday. She said to me today is Tuesday. 🙈I had to apologise to them. The thing is I kept saying my appointment was yesterday and they never once corrected me. Days seem to cause me confusion and remembering to do things then forgetting etc.

after my first heart attack and whilst in hospital, I got terribly confused by everyone and everything.

It was incredibly frightening as I seemed to know what I was getting confused about but could do nothing about it.

After a couple of weeks, it passed and I’m back to ‘normal’, whatever normal is…

Not patronising but could age be a factor ? I am 76 with HF and I think I am managing OK !!!

Please get an appointment with your GP, if possible ask you daughter to attend with you then you will have a "back-up" remembering what is discussed. Explain to him your worries about dementia. Also, maybe your daughter could contact the Alzheimer's Society. I found them very helpful when I spoke with them about the same type of symptoms.
