I had an echocardiogram yesterday for the first time, it was surprisingly strange seeing a video of your heart beating and all the valves opening and closing!
I had it done because I’ve had a fast heart rate and also the cardiologist heard a murmur. The sounds that they recorded of my heart sounded really strange, it was much louder and high pitched than I was expecting, and I was told it was quite a high turbulent flow as you could hear it moving through the valves. Hoping that sounds normal, does anyone have any experiences of what murmurs sound like? Obviously have to wait for the report but the guy who did it said it looked good so fingers crossed!

I’ve had a couple of echocardiograms done in the past. It can feel strange to see and hear your heart on a screen. Although I don’t have a murmur, there are a few others on here that do which will hopefully give you some more info. It’s reassuring that the radiologist said it looks ok. If they have found something of concern, it’s unlikely that they would have discharged you otherwise, if it is urgent, they will be in contact with you very soon.
I'm glad you had it done! Your echo results should help give you piece of mind. I've had sooo many echos and yeah it's weird hearing the high pitched sound because of the murmur, I try and turn to see the pictures but I always get told to turn around 😂. Hopefully you shouldn't be waiting to long for your results! X
