Goodness I am absolutely exhausted. I've spent hours at St Barts today talking with the nurse and flitting from one clinic to another for testsIt's a hat trick! Triple bypass.
I've decided to rise to the occasion and booked a hairdresses appointment before admission, I might even get a manicure!
A big thank you to everyone who has supplied, advice, kind words and support! ๐

Jeepers - what a day you've had, Linda, but it sounds as if they're being really thorough and looking after you properly. I think a manicure and a trip to the hairdressers are just what the doctor (should have!) ordered. ๐ When I sent a text to my sister last year, from hospital, to let her know I'd to have a triple bypass her reply was "trust you - never do anything by halves!". You'll get there and, once it's all over and done with, and you have some recovery time, you'll start to feel better than you've felt for ages - I know that I do. Off you go and make that appointment - maybe you could fit in a pedicure as well - go on, treat yourself, you deserve it. ๐๐ Carol x
Hi Carol, you made me laugh and cringe at the same time. Seriously the thought of having a pedicure creeps me out..I couldn't possibly have someone touch my feet. Yuck ๐ฉ๐
I bet you are feeling exhausted but that bit is over now
I had a triple to but no matter how many you have the op is the same the way they get to them so they might as well do as many as needed I even said if there is any more do them while you can
I think that is a great idea having you hair done and a manicure remember though if you have nail polish on you have to take that of but other than that you go in style and glamour
Keep us updated and stay as positive as you sound now x
Ah sounds like a long day but St barts are great very thorough x sounds like you definitely need a day to relax and treat yourself โค๏ธ. When is your triple bypass??? X
Sounds like a tiring dayWishing you the very best with the test results and the triple by- pass. Have you got the date for it? Hair and manicure sound like the perfect lift right now and you deserve it. ๐ x
Thank you for your kind words. Surgery is scheduled for Monday 25th September. In the meantime I'm trying to remain relaxed and focused on a good surgery and getting on the road to recovery. Oh an also an nice gin and tonic or two ๐ xx
Wishing you all good things and a speedy recovery. I imagine your mind is very busy at the moment I know mine would be. I met two very nice men when I had the rehab classes 7 yrs ago and was surprised how thin their scar was could hardly see it and that only weeks since operation. One was walking four miles a day. Hope all goes well and you will be feeling much better in no time. I am also having a procedure on the 25th for pressure wire test and stents fitted at the same time if needed, will update after . I will be In Basildon hospital. Xx
Hi Linda You will be absolutely fine!!! You are in the safest hands. Talking about hands, dint get anything at all put on your nails as they won't operate on you!! I'm in Scotland and was told any nail polish , gel or false nail extensions, acrylic is a no no!! Something to do with bacteria?? Just thought I would mention it incase you hadn't been told. I was poorly so was kept in as an inpatient on the waiting list. Do you have a date for your op?? Good luck with it all. You will sail through it with flying colours.
Excellent, thanks for the heads up. I likely won't have a manicure, it sounded like a good idea. The reality is if I did it would only be a buff and a shine as I like my nails short and plain. ๐I hope you recovered well!
My surgery is scheduled for Monday 25th September.๐
All the best for your upcoming surgery. No nail polish but you can still get a nice hair do. Youโre in good hands at st Bartโs and I should know. Not long now.
