pacemaker and a Fitbit

Last Thursday I had a pacemaker fitted and during the operation I asked the nurse who was chatting to me if I could continue wearing a Fitbit. She reassured me I could except I had read contradicting advice on various websites. I’m also aware that the Fitbit can tell me all sorts about my activities apart from blood and pulse readings. Has anyone gone ahead and worn one and had no reaction? Or maybe you’ve been warned against wearing one. All advice gratefully received.

Hiya,

Fitbits are fine I wear mine all the time and I have an ICD. I've found a lot of what is said on websites is rubbish and others can correct me but I think magnetism is less of an issue for pacemakers vs ICD.

Thank you Etzel. If others feel the same as you I’ll feel more confident wearing it.

I agree. I have a pacemaker and I wear my I watch daily and use my cell phone at work. I am gray to be alive.

Thank you for helping to reassure me along with Etzel above. Without waiting a moment I have it on my wrist.
