Good Morning,Currently struggling to stabilise my blood pressure. Just back from A&E after having chest pains & 200+ BP. Taking 10mg Rampril, 50 mg Eplerenone, 8mg Doxazosin, 5mg Amlodipine and 2.5mg Bisraprol. This has been going on 19 months with many visits to the GP/Consultant and A&E. Conn's syndrome has been diagnosed with recovery post surgery unlikely to achieve a reduction in my uncontrolled BP. Surgery to take place in January 2024.

High BP
Dear Ben
Welcome on board.
I have had huge success getting my BP to acceptable levels. I take medication including 10mg Ramipril. But I have also worked hard on getting a bit of daily exercise, sensible diet, sleep and relaxation. I use a tinnitus relaxer sometimes to get me off to sleep, sometimes just to have a quiet hour during the day. I now retire at 10pm and get up 6am. During the winter months I use a bright background light.
My BP is about 138 but fairly steady. The medics in Harrow reckoned I needed to get below 130 but here in rural Essex the guideline is 140.
In a nutshell, we need to adjust our lifestyle.
In 2016 I had a full stroke, which is something we really need to avoid. Really avoid. A stroke will neatly destroy your health in minutes. Whether my BP was the cause I don’t know, it certainly didn’t help.
Monitoring your BP is a plan, but I only take a reading weekly. Done daily I just panic and BP goes up. I won’t touch a Fitbit etc.
I do lots of gardenning. And I go to a relaxation group. Seated yoga was good.
Hope this might give you some points to consider.

hi
Mine too was is in scary levels and I’ve really had to up the game on walking and doing more . But my top tip is drink gallons more water - I’ve actually got off two lots of meds because my BP is more acceptable and I’m sure it’s because of my increased hydration.
BP and kidneys are very connected it’s a bore going to the loo a lot at first but that improves try it - it’s been a game changer for me .
Good luck
