I am currently taking 5mg amlopidine and every alternate day I take 1.25mg bisoporol as well.
My resting HR is 44 bpm and day time usually high 50s I’m experiencing headaches everyday and occasionally dizziness. My doctor said to stop the amlopidine but because I have a moderate to severe leaky heart valve is this ok to do The doctor seems to be unsure.

If your doctor isn't sure, you could ask your pharmacist, or better, a cardiologist if you have contact details. We on this forum are not medically qualified, and it could b dangerous if we offered bad advice. Is there no helpful info with the drugs?
I did ask my pharmacist and he said possibly try 2.5 mg amlopidine, but my doctor says they don’t do it. The 5 mg cannot be cut in half. I will just ween myself off and see what happens. The dr is ringing me again in 3 weeks to see how I am feeling and if my blood pressure remained stable.
isn’t there any advice the BHF could give? Any pointers or signposting? It doesn’t feel too good if your Dr is unsure
Do take care.
Hi Cat121, I would suggest second opinion from a cardiologist.
Try to identify causes, if dizziness is due to low blood pressure than 5 mg amlopidine dosage is not suitable. However if BP is stable on amlopidine than low heart rate can be a reason of headache & dizziness (only you can know)
After cardiologist advise! You can try switching bisporol with nebivolol and slowly weaning yourself of amlopidine. Although I didn't had leaky valve issue still I have been taking amlopidine 5 mg for a year and slowly weaned myself with 2.5 mg for 10 days and than alternate days for a week or so, meanwhile 2.5 mg nebivolol kicked in.
