I have been waiting for an angiogram in the South West of England and have been offered the opportunity to have it at The Cleveland Clinic in London with transport, a night in hospital, and hotel paid for as they cannot say when I may be offered one here - must be at a huge cost to the NHS. This would be in the next 3-4 months.
There is little online about this clinic as it only opened as a bedded hospital last March and I can't find many reviews. Has anyone else been offered a procedure here and if so how was it? Has anyone any information? There are no stats available which makes me a little nervous and I have to let them know next week.

I am sure someone will be able to give you some feedback on this but I would imagine doing an Angiogram they will be as good as anywhere else and also at least you will find out if there is anything wrong quicker
I have to say I have never heard of transport and hotel all been paid for offered before they seem to be going out their way as you say at the NHS expense to get you this done
I have just had a look and it is a private place and it has 3.9 from patient reviews but someone always marks places down so not sure how reliable that is but if you put Cleveland Clinic London in Google to the right side you should be able to see the reviews and read them
I hope someone knows this place and will be able to ease your mind and let us know what you decide to do and if you do go what the experience was like x
Thanks. The reviews didn't fill me with confidence as the only good ones I can find relate mainly to when it operated as an outpatient clinic. Hopefully someone will have been there. It looks quite swish.
You know what people are like though with reviews our Hospital where I had my angiogram done has even worse reviews and it is not swish either far from it but they did the job so all was good
I am sure they would do angiograms ok give it some thought I was going to say speak to your Doctor but if they want an answer next week no doubt you won't get to speak to one before then
Not quite the same thing but the local NHS hospital referred my husband to a private hospital for an op as the waiting time in a NHS hospital was too long. Unfortunately the private hospital refused the referral as my husband's health was too complicated and the private hospital didn't have the emergency back up a NHS hospital has if anything had gone wrong. Whilst any procedure carries a risk an angiogram is very commonplace & I doubt you would have been referred if your medical team weren't absolutely sure it was safe for you.
It's strange but I would have felt more comfortable if it had been a private hospital here. I felt a bit like I was being pushed to accept without much information. My last angiogram was not a pleasant experience so I am a bit wary. Hopefully someone will have been there.
The Cleveland Clinic have 2 sites in London, one is more an outpatients clinic and the other is a hospital. I visited the hospital recently for my TOE. I haven’t much basis for comparison, but I’d say that it’s more like visiting a hotel than a hospital. It’s next to the wall to Buckingham Palace gardens right in Belgravia. Apart from my admission being pushed back at short notice due to the junior Doctor’s strike, I couldn’t fault it. My nephews have both had procedures there as well.
A friend of mine from Devon had a quadruple heart by pass recently there. Everything was arranged well, his family went with him and stayed in a nearby hotel. They were with him when he saw his consultant and were involved with his treatment. The care was outstanding. It is a private hospital used by the NHS. He is recovering well. Wishing you well.
I had a heart valve replacement here in April and prior to that an angiogram to check my tubes. As far as the angiogram itself went I actually didn't feel a thing and it had all been explained to me before they started. This is a fantastic facility, and I would 100% recommend it to anyone.
Very professional, very friendly staff (you will most likely have a dedicated nurse for your procedure).
I see you are staying the night, be prepared to be amazed by the food selection. Top quality.
All the best, you won't regret going and you might even get a room overlooking Buckingham Palace Gardens. If not you can see into them from some of the reception areas.
Visitors allowed pretty much anytime and there is a coffee shop / restaurant on the ground floor should they need anything more than a cup of tea or coffee (which they can get on every floor for free)
I haven’t had anything there but have a friend who had brain surgery there and is doing really well and had a wonderful experience . You should look into the cardiologists who work there. I work in the private sector and have heard good things and have had colleagues including Doctors who have gone to work there( not cardiologists though) who say it is state of the art. I think if your given the opportunity you should go for it.
Hello, here in the US Cleveland Clinic facilities are the best of the best. My cardiologist and pulmonologist are both at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. I drive 3 hours for my appointments because they are the best. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I hope this eases your fears a little 👍😀
Its a new site. The Cleveland Clinic out patients opened post- you-know-what. It is apparently state of the art and most of the consultants who work there are also top consultants in NHS hospitals in London. The NHS is using private facilities to bring down waiting lists - you will have excellent care. Your consultant will be listed on the Clinic website - look him/her up. Good luck.
