New to this community. Just been diagnosed with Mitral valve prolapse and regurgitation. I get very out of breath. I thought it was because of my lung cancer and having had half my lung removed! Bit if a shock to find out it’s my heart! Just sinking in really. The cancer and a chronic illness is bad enough now this. My question is this heart disease and is it the early signs of heart failure? Also is it ok to drive? Many thanks.
Hi and welcome to the forum pianoplayinglady ( love the name you chose) 😅. I can't imagine how overwhelmed you must be dealing with this new diagnosis aswell as cancer 💔🎗️. Probably best to ask your cardiologist these type of questions, so you can get the best information possible. I wish you all the best and take care ❤️.
One thing I will say I looked on Google, ( probably not the best thing to do I know 😉) mitral valve prolapse is a type of heart disease. But probably best to get the proper in depth info from a doctor or your cardiologist. ❤️
Hey, I have mitral regurgitation, 1+2 degrees. My mitral valve leaks a little. The cardiologist told me that it's nothing. That it happens to a lot of people. Not to worry. Did he say the same to you?
no. As I have mitral valve prolapse and regurgitation he said it must be monitored. I get very breathless. If it gets worse they will get me in for another echo. It will eventually be operated on.
