"recommendations fora new exercise bike"

Yes, buy a better quality used bike, rather than a mediocre new one.

Home delivery pizzas and Netflix generally win out over exercise within a month or two!

Profit from their weakness. And if the worst comes to the worst and you follow the same path then it can be sold on without too much of a loss.

Good luck!

I bought a stand that has an adjustable magnet and attached my old bike to it and used it in the garage in the winter. To overcome the boredom I set up a laptop in front to watch YouTube videos taken by someone cycling. One series of videos there is from CTXCvideos, a cycling team from Australia. With a bit of imagination I am back in my youth riding in the chain gang. (Now at a much slower pace, but due to the wonders of modern technology I can keep up with them, no matter how knackered I get.)I prefer to have the video on mute and use my own choice of music.

Hello,

I went for the Watt Bike Atom, it allows me to closely monitor my heart rate without fear or worry of any issues developing whilst I’m out.

I’ve tried lots of the different Apps you can pair it with and really enjoy FulGaz with its 4K immersive experience; I’ve ridden on routes all around the world and even through the African Savannah with amazing animals to see.

I pair mine with the an iPad, prefer this option to the Pelaton Bike with a fixed screen, because I can upgrade the iPad over time.

Yes it’s not a cheap option but then it works well for my circumstances, hope this helps and you have lots of fun and enjoyment whatever you decide 😊.

My recommendation would be to get on Zwift it is excellent with every type of riding and racing you could want.

Varies in cost how you start from a very simple setup right through to a full on dedicated trainer. Lots online about it, have a Google

I got bored in the gym, bought an e bike and joined a u3a cycling group - wary of cycling alone. Best thing I have done in recent years, love my e-bike and enjoy the company of others.

I do Zwift too - I resisted any kind of trainer for years, but got it to maintain my post-operation exercise regime in Covid, and now I'm hooked. Even though I'm in a cycling club and move amongst people with very posh bikes and kit, I do Zwift on an old single-speed bike and a basic trainer fitted to the rear wheel. The main point is the ability to ride virtual routes, take part in virtual events with others, and so on, which makes it less dull than just sitting pedalling on a conventional exercise bike.

e-bike gave me confidence by knowing I could get home without struggling. Cycling further and more often as a consequence.

hi. I have a Horizon comfort 408. it has a built-in back support which makes it the most comfortable seat I have! Lots of programmes. It’s quite old but still works. Good luck!
