Angina

I've had chest pain for the last 10 years and using nitro glicerin to relieve the pain which was recommended by a paramedic, up until recently in march 2021 after countless gp and hospital visits I've finally been diagnosed with cad, 2 severe blocked arteries and atrial fibrillation tachycardia after collapsing on the floor in pain one night in January 2021, Ive had 2 stents fitted in march last year, I was finally relieved to get a diagnosis and treatment after years of not being believed by doctors , . Last December I started feeling very unwell with nausea and generally very weak breathless and unwell, my GP put me on cyzaline antisickness meds which didn't help, then in January I started getting angina pain back ,only more severe and frequent this time😣, got referred back to cardiology and had a angiogram last Friday to check my stents, doctor told me stents are fine, I asked him why am I getting the angina pain back and at first he asked if I was stressed about anything and I said no, he then told me some people still get angina after stenting, he said he has done a summary letter for my GP And handed me a copy of the letter which stated out patient pcmr for misrovascular angina with a question mark next to it, .I then went to the toilet, after coming out of the toilet I bumped into the doctor who did my angiogram, he asked how I was and I just had a total break down and cried my eyes out, he was very sympathetic and sat down with me and I just blurted it all out while still crying that I'm just really depressed about the angina pain and feeling permanently nauseous and unwell, he explained he only deals with stents and will arrange a heart scan, and said to try the new medication DILTIAZEM HYDROCHLORIDE 80 mg he prescribed what might help, and I thanked him for all he did, when he left I cried again in the recovery waiting room while waiting to be collected by my son, the nurses were really nice and sympathetic, I felt really stupid and embarrassed when I got home for crying like a big baby Infront of the doctor and the nurses 🫣, I tried the new med and it made me feel more ill with severe side effects, my head was spinning, my tinnitus got louder and gave me bad panic anxiety so I've stopped them and will contact my GP Monday,my apologies for long post

Welcome to the forum spotlesssunshine. You have been through so much, especially trying to get the medical profession to listen when the tests they carried out didn't reveal any problems.

I think many of us have been in situations where we cannot stop the tears from flowing - and hardly surprising in the circumstances. So you are not alone in this, and I'll bet the doctor and nurses have come across it before - and understood.

As it happens, it enabled you to find out more information and be referred for a heart scan - positive news.

I hope they identify where your problems lie and/or get you onto medication that improves the symptoms and your quality of life.

Please let us know how you get on 😊
