hello one and all don’t want to frighten anyone but have been struggling for the last two weeks trying to understand why I was never told the results of a cat scan that was taken of my brain when my hart attack was happening that I had brain damage is it because I am a northerner and obviously a bit dim hahaha 🤪 or do you just think they forgot never had a follow up on it or anything did think my memory was terrible after the hart attack but when I told the wife she just shrugged her shoulders and said that explains a lot now eat your vegetables my special broccoli 🥦 my wife bless her

What was meant by "brain damage"? Recently my wife persuaded me to go to our equivalent of A&E as I was feeling totally grotty, rather out of it, a bit unresponsive and slurring / stammering in my speech. They kept me in for 3days for observation and I had the works: CT, MRI and something that imaged the arteries in the neck.

Well, I soon picked up and if it was the beginning of a stroke it didn't progress to anything but the doctor overlooking my stay said (it's also in the notes they gave me when I was released) that there was some scarring from a previous event, but she couldn't tell how old it was.

All adds to the lack of knowing how far down that road I am. Are the lapses of memory and silly things I do serious or normal?

Sorry to rattle on here which is your place but it just sort of came out.

Cheers and good luck.

ps The difficulty with speech I've put down to the fact that I was speaking Czech - not my 1st language. ( I'm British but have been speaking Czech for nearly 30years)

I had a stroke in 2021 caused by endocarditis and when I had a scan later they picked up other damage (gray areas) from a different event but have never elaborated on how it happened. I can only assume that I had a mini stroke after the big one. If I did, I didn’t even notice it happening. I’m definitely slower than I was and I struggle to remember things but that could just be an age thing. I do have problems with left sided tremors and weakness but that’s not a bad outcome considering the massive stroke that I had. x
