sorry if this seems like a silly question, but can someone explain how you can have high blood pressure but have a low pulse at the same time please

Silly Question
Blood pressure is the force with which oxygenated blood is moved through your arteries. Pulse is simply the frequency of beats per minute. But there's a third factor, the diameter of the arteries themselves.
Here's the key thing. Healthy, flexible arteries can dilate and grow larger, thus allowing more blood to pass through. Older, diseased arteries become calcified and less supple ("hardening of the arteries"), so they can't respond this way. This means you can have the counter intuitive scenario where blood pressure drops, but in order to get more oxygenated blood to the muscles and organs the heart has to beat faster.
Dear you
Far from a silly question, a very interesting one in fact along with your answers { that sorry I can't add to or improve on }
Take care
I couldn't understand why I was prescribed blood pressure medication for my mitral valve leak, when I don't have high blood pressure. I did refuse it, but I still don't really understand. Is this related?
Hi I have this problem too.
It was ramipril. I questioned the gp but he was a bit short with me. As a number of things have gone wrong with my health all at once I don't want to start a suitcase full of drugs all interacting with each other and bringing their own side effects.
I might be being totally unfair, but I get the feeling that we must all conform for the sake of the statistics.
thanks for all your answers. I understand what you are saying, finding it frustrating at the moment. Getting some very random high (Highest 200/110) and low (98/70) readings but my fitbit is beeping saying my heart rate is dropping below 46 and haven't had an issues previously. Booked in to speak to GP on tuesday for my annual review so will have a chat with him. the body is a very complex machine 🤔
