Hello!
Does anyone else live with a BAV?
I was looking for a local support group to join but there isn’t one in my town. Glad I found this online group!

Hi lakeland you definitely came to the right place alot of us live with this condition some have had surgery to correct it. I am still waiting mine is moderate to severe aortic regurgitation and moderate stenosis. What stage is yours have you had any symptoms. Welcome to the forum and I'm sure you will get plenty of helpful information! 😊
yes, I lived with Bicuspid valve all my life until I had a aortic valve replacement in 2009.
HiI had a BAV but was totally unaware of it until it was at the severe to critical stage. I had OHS last April but joined a Facebook support group, which was amazing and helped me through it.
It's called UK Aortic and Heart Defects Pre and Post surgery

As previously said it depends what stage you are at, i've had mine for 15yrs and only just planning to operate. With luck living with it will only involve a yearly echo scan.
I've been diagnosed with BAV since 2011. No change in measurements since the initial echo and I go in annually. Lately they've been measuring with CT Scans with contrast. I have a resulting AAA (Ascending Aortic Aneurysm). I too am looking for a group focused on BAV (and AAA).
I believe I have mild regurgitation. But again, no changes in the performance of my heart. I was 40 when they diagnosed it and now am about to be 53. The best result of this is my lifestyle is far better now than ever before.
