The trial for Inclisiran has been ongoing for some time now. I was nominated by my GP practice over 3 years ago, went through the induction process but never started since the pandemic got in the way, but when things improved I found my hospital could no longer support the trial so my participation was cancelled. But if you decide to join you will be assessed and if found suitable inducted and then given 'treatment' over a 5 year period as I recall but you will not know whether you are receiving Inclisiran or a placebo. Next Inclisiran is now NICE approved and available on prescription but to receive it you must have to meet strict onerous requirements and so it is not intended for everyone. But since you have been nominated it might be worth enquiring whether you already meet the criteria to receive it.

Had high LDL cholesterol that led to two stents fitted in 2020, one in each coronary artery then another fitted in 2022 in right artery. Apparently I have circumflex disease and they want to check whether I am symptomatic to it with my heart under pressure. All this was due to clogged arteries, although I am eating healthy walking 3 mile every day my father died of heart disease so the cardiologist said it is hereditary all I can do is try my best to keep my cholesterol level as low as possible.

This is NICE guidance about Inclisiran. Seems to revolve around persistent LDL levels over 2.6. The NHS will have similar guidance if you research it. nice.org.uk/guidance/TA733

If you believe you qualify you may have to push your GP since although it is approved it costs a lot!

Hello Sizzlerman, yes I have been invited to take part in the trial. I have my first meeting next month but I think I will find out then if I meet their criteria. If you do go, let us know how you get on. Take care, Judi
