Leaking valves

Good evening everyone.I had a mitral valve replaced in 2018 and today, when I went from my routine checks, they found the the tricuspid and aortic valve are leaky too. For now is a mild leak, but I can t deny that I am a bit worried about it. With the mitral valve, I went from a moderate leak to a severe regurgitation in a very short time.I just hope these other 2 valves will not deteriorate as fast as the mitral. I wonder what is the cause if this new leak Anyone that has had similar experience to mine

You do find that if one leaks it causes the other to leak. I have moderate to severe aortic regurgitation and moderate stenosis and mild leak in mitral. Really sorry its happened to you and so soon after your valve replacement in 2018. What sort of valve did you have because certain ones only last 5 years and by the sounds of it it's definitely been that time frame. Did your cardiologist say what his treatment plan was???

5 years sounds short, is that a repair rather than replacement? During my consult the surgeon said 12-15 yrs for organic, 20+ for metal which is why i'm going that way, if I get to 80 and need a replacement i'll consider it a win.

Oh I must be thinking about a different procedure, I had the catheter up the groin to widden the valve only supposed to last 5 years its lasted me bout 13 lol. 20 years sounds amazing! Metal sounds like the way to go hope all goes well for you keep us updated on your leaking valve 😉👍

I'm sure my consultant said that mitral valve deteriorates faster than aortic, in my case it took nearly 15 years of scans to get my aortic to where I am today so don't panic you have probably got more chance of being run over by a bus!!

Thank you for getting back to me.My mitral valve went from moderate to severe in less than 2 years, hopefully for the other it will take much longer

I have mild mitral valve regurgitation and a slight leak on my tricuspid and pulmonary valve too. I'm not sure if it's caused by me having left ventricular hypertrophy (lvh) which might of put a strain on my valves only that I have them checked out every 6 months to see if it's deteriorated. So far nothing has changed but it's only just recently been diagnosed. Good luck and keep us all updated on your progress. Taz.
