welcome to the community, there are definitely members who can help you with that and you’ll find people supportive as well as informative. Hopefully they will be along soon.😊
Hallo Bettie 2023, I also live with angina after a heart attack in September 2021. I never asked the proper questions at the time due to it being so very unexpected. I have, however, learned a lot from this site regarding this condition. Re medication and diet. I am vegetarian and eat a good diet, however, I do have a sweet tooth which has, for some reason, come with older age. Trying hard to curb this new habit. My weight is healthy. I was always very fit and jogged, swam, yoga, cycled, until my late 60's, when vertebrae fractures and chronic back pain put an end to this. I now enjoy short gentle walks and Pilates. I am sure other very experienced members will come on line and share their journey with you. Take care 🙏
I am sure that Milkfairy will spot your post soon and offer more advice - but you can start by looking up the International Heart Spasm Alliance internationalheartspasmsall...
This is a condition which is being diagnosed more frequently now thanks to improved diagnostic techniques and increasing awareness - it is not widely known about so very few people have any understanding of how it affects you and your life - I hope that finding others with this and similar conditions as well as more information will be helpful for you and your family
poorly understood, invisible conditions present many challenges, but you are one of many with these issues and i hope you find support among us (i have a different one).
I have microvascular angina and spasm too. It does require some lifestyle adjustments. I found giving up coffee life changing. Also cannot excercise unless I want to schedule in an angina attack in the evening with alot of gtn required. I get heart tired and chest pain and the ebb and flow of my daily activities is slower needing to recharge my batteries and recover takes longer. And then there is the unexpected angina attacks with no trigger warning that can be set off just when I have an appointment or social meeting to go to- very annoying. How does it effect you ? I hope the medication is helping.
