LBBB and impairment.

Last year I was told I had left bubdle branch block but no cause was found on MRI. One year later, echocardiogram showed heart is impaired. Still waiting for consultant letter to gp which will explain in more detail. I was told my heart refraction (I think he said) rate is 45%. When I hurry, get stressed or tried to walk up 198 steps, my chest would feel tight and I would struggle to breathe. Doctor said he will ask gp to prescribe medication but not beta blockers yet as he would like my asthma to be managed first.

Anyone can tell me what the medication is for? Is my heart rate too fast and therefore exerting myself even a little causes discomfort and medication is used to slow down heart rate? If medication is used to slow heart rate, is exercise good then? Sorry my questions may be silly, until I receive the letter, I'm not sure what to research! I'm a bit worried. Does my condition mean a shortened life ahead? If so, how fast would it progress? Does medication slow down the progression or just relieve symptoms? Is it a must to take medication or is there other ways They? They couldn't find a reason for this which is frustrating. So sorry for all the questions!
