Newly Diagnosed - DaisyTerrier

Just been diagnosed, only found out when a cut would not stop bleeding & went to local A & E have always had a weight problem, used food as an emotional crutch. Need to now take fitness & weight loss seriously. Quiet a lot to take in, looking on the positive aspect, maybe the extra push I need to eat sensibly & exercise more, are there any recommended guide line books Arterial Fibulation management?

Hello and welcome to the forum!

This link will take you to a guide on AF in the form of a downloadable leaflet and booklet.

bhf.org.uk/informationsuppo...

The BHF recommend a Mediterranean Diet. You should lose weight if you limit carbs to about 120 - 130gms per day and limit fats. Have you a dog? They are good for regular expercise.

There's a lot of information about AF on the Heart Rhythm Alliance website:

heartrhythmalliance.org/afa...

The important things are to take an anticoagulant (to help prevent strokes) and not to worry too much (easier said than done!). There is a forum on Health Unlocked especially for AF. See:
