Hi I have been having sharp chest pains for 3 years had results back for CT angiogram with contrast saying my stents which I had in in 2017 RCA and LAD are clear and no other disease in any other arterys. In July in consultant but be on amlodipine and after a few days the sharp pains went away. When I had my CT angiogram with contrast I had a bad reaction to the contrast dye really bad sharp pains across the top of my chest I had to hold my chest it hurt so bad, though the night it hurt and next day, I have no chest pains now, Can the pains I had be artery spasms, Also just found out I have mild COPD from a work spirometry test

I’m glad the pains have gone away. I’ve had a similar experience and am trying to understand whether it’s the amlodipine that has helped? Or something else. I hope you find answers as from a personal perspective I feel more reassured when I understand what’s happened, what caused it and how it’s being treated. Let me know how things progress. Good luck.

Hello,
I live with vasospastic angina, caused by transient constrictions, vasospasms of my coronary arteries.
I tend to get most of my pain at rest, especially in the night
I suggest you keep a log of your symptoms and discuss this with the Cardiologist at your upcoming appointment.
The BHF has this information about vasospastic angina.
