Has anyone experienced tachycardia in the months after an SVT RF cardiac ablation? If so, how long till it subsided? Or what meds were you taking?

I have SVT (AVRNT to be exact) and had an ablation in September. I had a few episodes the first couple of days, but nothing like I had before. I had episodes prior that would last a few hours, and heart rate would be 180 BPM. I had a few episodes the first couple of days, and felt like I had some missed beats as well. Over the first couple of weeks, I had a few minor episodes, but nothing compared to prior to the ablation.

After I returned to work, I have had three episodes that I have noticed. Two were around 120 BPM (while resting,) and one was 208 BPM and I got Fitbit EKGs for all three. All three lasted a couple of minutes, and were not disruptive as they were before.

thank you for sharing. Are you taking any meds right now? I have some runs of tachy in the morning but then the beta blockers kick in and control it.

I am on Diltiazem and still the Eliquis.

Now that you mention it, my heart rate does get up in the morning when I am doing my morning routine and making coffee before I take my meds. Nothing major, maybe 100 BPM.

hey! I just had my ablation a week ago. Thanks for sharing. I used to get my avnrt only when I worked out, but I felt some palpitations post procedure and then a few days after I got home. Not too many though and may be anxiety induced , heart rate went to 170. Usually with my SVT it would be 200+. So the docs don't think it is my avnrt. Have you had something similar?

Have any of you noticed an improvement in your symptoms yet? I’m two weeks post ablation for SVT and keep getting runs of tachycardia. It’s really freaking me out.
