Sudden Cardiac Death in elderly

If you have a low burden, say 5%, of ectopics, a normal echocardiogram and low cholesterol, good blood pressure, good diet, weight, no diabetes or heart disease, not on medication for anything, can you still die of cardiac death without warning?

That's an interesting question. I suppose it is possible for someone's heart to stop without warning or previous indication of problems. Some examples might be the adverse effect of a current or recent viral infection, a blood clot on the lung, an air bubble in the bloodstream, sudden immersion into very cold water, etc. There are probably lots of scenarios where heart failure can occur regardless of apparently good heart health and recent clear scans.

I don't know for certain, but I rather hope a post-mortem would be able to identify precise reasons for heart failure if investigation is thought necessary.
