I've been recommended to monitor my BP with a home device, but have recently had a pacemaker fitted. I've downloaded a few manuals of budget BP monitors and seen 'not suitable for use with a pacemaker' in the instructions!
I'd love to know what models other people have found that are OK to use in my circs, and don't break the bank.
Thanks in advance.

My GP said that my arrhythmia maybe resulting in inaccurate readings when using a home BP reader although I too was recommended to purchase one by my cardiology team
I use a Omron HEM- RML31 bp monitor. About $110 in New Zealand.I also have an Emay portable ECG monitor but that foesntwork correctly now since having a 2 lead Pacemaker fitted.
You can get a home monitor for your pacemaker. My pacemaker technician told me not to bother with it since i am attending pacer clinic every 6 months.
I have a pacemaker and have never heard of this. I have a Omron b.p monitor had it a fair few years. You can get them from Argos/ Salisbury s as it is now. About 20 quid. Hope this helps. Brian
I have an ICD and use an Omron, as well as others at the Cardiac Rehab where I volunteer. No one has suggested I shouldn't use them, or that they will be inaccurate because of the ICD.
Yes, looking at the Omron manuals they seem fine. This was just the advice I needed. Can't remember the makes of the others I researched but I presume some over the counter ones must use slightly different technologies? (Or they're just being over-catious in their warnings!) Anyway Omron have good range at good prices so that's the way I'll go. 👍
