HOCM hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy

it would be good to communicate with others who have HOCM. I’ve just had my pacemaker replaced and the second scar is twice as long as the first as it seemed difficult to remove the original. Has anyone else had this happen.?

Hi, my HOCM is hereditary which unknowingly I’ve had all my life. I played sport when I was young and thought everyone felt ill when playing, so it’s amazing I survived! It is limiting but I have a tip to help everyday. I eat only once a day in the evening. In the morning I squeeze 2 oranges, and have a cup of tea. I sometimes have a milky coffee late morning. In the afternoon I make a smoothly generally made up of blueberries, spinach, yogurt, banana and water, making about 1 pint, totally delicious! The reason for my diet is that eating and exertion regardless how gentle is too much for my heart. I lead a reasonable quality of life. If you do need to eat more than me, make sure you always sit down for at least an hour, but keep daytime food to a minimum. I also drink a couple of litres a day of water. Hope this helps.
