ECG shows atrial bradycardia. Does anyone know what this means? My GP has referred me to a cardiologist but I am waiting for an appointment. GP suggested I might end up with a pacemaker as my resting heart rate is between 43-46 beats per minute. My heart rate drops down to 42 during the day when at work; moving aroung. If you have a pacemaker fitted, what was your heart rate range?

Atrial bradycardia?
I can' t help with anything relating to Atrial Bradycardia, hope you get to speak to a Cardiologist soon. I had a pacemaker fitted for Complete Heart Block back in 2020, my average heart rate was between 40 - 50 beats per minutes. I was very well looked during and after the procedure. You do have to be careful not to move your arms above shoulder height for several weeks after. I was given a BHF booklet prior to my procedure which was very good at explaining the do and don'ts. Several years later and I barely notice my pacemaker and get followed up yearly by the technicians in the pacing clinic. Hope you get sorted soon.
Better known as Sinus Bradicardia. The other one is AV Bradicardia.
I have no symptoms at a HB of 43 so a pacemaker is not considered.
When your heart rate drops do you feel any symptoms?
Lightheaded. Need to sit down or not do much.
Thank you for all of your replies. When my heart rate drops below 50 I feel light-headed and below 48 I cannot focus, feel really disorientated and like I am going to pass out. Sometimes breathless depending on what I am doing.
