My Appointment Update for LBBB

Went down on the private route as I previously said, my Consultant was extremely nice and he was easy to talk to. I had a list ready of all my history which made it easier, and a few questions I wanted to ask. I am now scheduled for an Echocardiogram on Tuesday. I have some fluid on the lungs which could be caused by a heart valve problem, and this is what is causing my extreme breathlessness.

Then got a follow up with him later. It certainly gives a feeling of confidence knowing you’re being dealt with. Well worth the money.

Hope you’re all doing well.

Dear Andian

It was very pleasant to read your post about the confidence that ‘going private’ has given you.

It is so important {I feel} to be able to take as much control in our healthcare as we can, it is so hard that once that ball starts rolling to be able to slow it down to get the answers you want.

I wish all the best for you and I have been told without hesitation if I had followed up on my health niggles earlier on my heart may have not got in the mess it did.

But as usual I was living a life and being a man {cough cough} chose to disregard signs that now, after the event, seem so obvious.

Take care and please keep us informed of your progress

I thought I would just add, making a private appointment is not too expensive, and you are able to take it a step at a time. Each procedure is separately charged and at any stage you are given the choice to revert to NHS. Just know your budget. At no time was I made to feel uncomfortable. It beats waiting months for NHS appointment as they’re backed up still because of the COVID problems.
