Post Hear attack and Hayfever

I had a HA 6 weeks ago but didn’t know I was having one. Just a bit light headed , indigestion type pain in my back and little tight chested . I have food allergies so thought I was having a bad reaction and thankfully went to A+E.

Now becoming neurotic as Pollen and heat been high and hayfever and allergy symptoms feel similar to when had HA.

Spoke to cardiac rehab nurse who said just think whether it is the same as previous reaction. It was worse than previous years but Friends who have hay-fever have had increased symptoms in the last week . Or is it my heart problem again ?

Has anyone else struggle with this too and can offer me some words of wisdom as unsure at what point to use GTN spray Or get help ?

Hi SkeetsI know just what you mean, my HA was late last year and like you hadn’t realised it was a HA. The pollen this year has been crazy high and the humidity has made things much worse. My advice would be to use your GTN spray and sit quietly for 10 mins, if nothing changes its unlikely to be your heart. With allergies its so hard because the symptoms mimic so many other illnesses xx

Hi Skeets,

I wholeheartedly (pun intended) concur with GFFF.

I would just add, if you still have doubts after the 10 minutes of quiet rest then don't hesitate to either go to A&E or call an ambulance. They would rather carry out a thousand ECG's for nothing than have to inform next of kin that they were contacted too late.

All the best
