I was admitted to hospital one week ago with a suspected scad heart attack my Troponin levels were very elevated 165 and over 200 however a CT scan with showed no damage to arteries no tears no blockages so what on what on earth could be causing these high troponin levels? Has anyone else had this?

I was agreed to hospitalHigh troponin levels but no damage to arteries.....
Hello DiddleDi,
Spontaneous coronary artery dissection, SCAD is usually caused by a tear in the inner wall of the coronary arteries.
When the heart muscle is damaged by a lack of blood supply , infection, inflammation or trauma, troponin a protein is released into the blood supply.
One possible cause of a lack of blood supply to the heart, with unobstructed coronary arteries, is coronary vasospasms, vasospastic angina.
This is when there are transient constructions of the coronary arteries due to coronary vasospasms.
Both SCAD and Vasospastic angina can cause a Myocardial Infarction non obstructive coronary arteries MINOCA.
The BHF has this information about microvascular and vasospastic angina. These are often overlooked and undiagnosed types of non obstructive angina which tend to affect women more than men.

Other possible causes of high tropinin levels are infection such as myocarditis, kidney problems, pulmonary embolism, trauma, extreme exercise and Takostubo Cardiomyopathy.
