Aorta Valve problem 18 month post Triple Bypass

I guess I am a bit unfortunate. ( months post Triple Bypass I had made an excellent recovery. They inspected my Aorta valve during my op using an internal Echo and the said it did not need replacing. But in the last 6 months I feel to have aged 10 years. Angina has started, I get fatigue, even walking slowly gets me out of breath. Even at 74 yrs I had got back to work making furniture for 6 hrs a day and walking 3 miles. Now just a mile a day and had to retire. Saw my Cardiac consultant last week. I need an Echo to see how bad the valve is. But open heart op to fix it is not an easy option following a Bypass. So that would only be done if it gets severe. He only thought I had a slim chance of doing it through my groin. I am keeping positive until I know the full picture. Hopefully I can just be monitored 6 monthly and live with it. Has anyone any experience re Aorta Valve replacement? Oh I also have an Aorta Root Aneurism which was 4.2mm, 3mm too narrow to also have been replaced at the same time with my Triple and Valve replacement. They will look at that when I have my Echo to check that is still ok.

Hello , I had an AVR last year at the age of 73. I also had an aortic aneurysm repair ( it had reached 6cm in width) and an aortic root replacement.

I hadn't had previous heart surgery. I was in hospital for 2 weeks because of my age, but got through the operation no problem, apart from a lung which partially collapsed for a couple of days. I hope your surgeon finds a way of repairing your valve good luck.
