My mum had a heart attack and had two stents put in in 2006. Also with angina over a week ago she started to become breathless until 7 days later she could not talk. A GP rang an ambulance immediately. Her legs are now filled with fluid and docs have said there is significant damage to the artery walls and a third stent is a must. Will the delay have caused heart muscle to die as she's pale, retaining fluid and still has pains? I know it's an impossible question to answer but she almost died with sepsis earlier this year and already requires 24/7 care?

Morning WiseGer, although I can't answer your question I just want to wish your mum the best, everything is so much harder when your looking after your mum. All the best to you both xxx Sheena
Diuretics are usually prescribed for fluid retention. If she does not take them perhaps enquire why they have not been prescribed.I am not a medic but this happened to me,and my brother, and in both cases the diuretics were very effecteive.
My husband badly needed stents last year when he had an angiogram and eventually got them done he had 99% stenosis. He had had 2 stents in 2008 and they had closed up. I am sure your mother will feel a lot better after the stents take care.
Unfortunately she refused the Angiogram so the medics couldn't identify exactly where a third stent should. Go by medical notes she needs CR as some heart muscle was affected and there's atrial fibrillation with heart block
