High Blood Pressure After Aortic Valve Replacement

i recently had a aortic valve replacement on 10 th December 2021

since the operation i have had high blood pressure would this be normal

I have been given different types of medication with no affect as yet

Anyone else else had the same issues

any advise or story would be great

Hello. I’d suggest phoning the BHF nurses. My husband had the same problem after his AVR - the hospital took him off his ACE inhibitor & diuretic but left his Betablocker. After a visit to A&E for blood in his urine (due to an extremely high BP and Warfarin) the ACE inhibitor was given again. That didn’t really help much and he wasn’t getting anywhere with GP etc. One call to the BHF nurses who suggested adding a diuretic back into the mix, a call with the GP and bingo! All sorted.
